When you or a loved one is coping with acne, it may seem like the problem will never go away. If you are already taking pretty good care of your skin and taking care not to touch any blemishes with your hands, you may want to take a good look at your diet.

While the old myths about greasy food and chocolate being bad for your skin are mostly false, you may find that there are actually some foods that will trigger a breakout. Everyone is different, so take a moment to consider how you can stop acne with the right diet.

One thing that you may want to avoid is milk, especially if you are a teenager. Since acne is triggered by changes in the hormones, it makes sense to avoid milk since it contains certain hormones. If you just put some milk in a bowl of cereal you will probably not have any problems, but you shouldn’t drink more than a glass of milk every day or so.

Another think that just might stop acne once and for all is some extra fish in your diet. Both fish and fish oil are really good for your skin and it has been determined that they can help prevent acne too. Salmon, cod, and tuna are great choices when you are trying to get more Omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. You can also use one of the many fish oil supplements as well. Remember that this is one of the fats that everyone can use more of.

When you are thinking about a good diet to help you fight acne, don’t forget the role that water might play in it. Water will help you flush out your skin while helping your body process both nutrients and toxins more effectively.

Drinking adequate amounts of water is essential to healing your existing blemishes quickly and without any scarring. Take some time to consider how you will be able to move forward and start getting more water in your diet. Many people carry large bottles with them while others stop to drink from every water fountain the pass throughout the day.

There are lots of supplements that can help you as well. We mentioned fish oil supplements above, but you will also find that vitamin A and vitamin B5 are helpful as well. Similarly, vitamin E can be ingested or taken externally and it is terrific for your skin. Similarly, zinc can reduce acne as well, and you can find it in mushrooms, whole grains, and eggs.

Keep in mind that eating a health diet will help you beat acne, so take a moment and really think about what you want to eat!
