Choosing the Most Profitable ClickBank Affiliate Programs

Thousands of website owners dream of profits from affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing offers endless opportunities to anyone with a computer, a flare for selling, and a few dollars to start an income-generating home business that will drive them down the road to financial security. The Internet’s biggest and most popular resource for affiliate marketers is Clickbank, the web hub that enables anyone to pick up digital products and sell them for a hefty commission. The thing is, there are thousands of products in the Clickbank Marketplace, over 10,000, in fact. How do you determine which products will bring you the most profits?

The first thing you need to know is that there are measurable factors that directly affect how well a product is going to sell on the Internet, regardless of how it is manufactured, presented, or shipped. A profitable product is one that fills an immediate need. What kinds of products fill an immediate need? Examples are ebooks on how to train your dog, how to make money online, how to find the right man or the right woman, and how to win at gambling are the types of products users buy right now because they can use them right now. If someone just broke things off with their significant other, they don’t want to get dressed, get in the car, and drive to the mall to plunk down $29.95 on a book they practically want to sneak out of the store in a plain brown wrapper. They want the information that gives them relief and gives them relief now, and they find that on Clickbank.

The second thing to consider is whether the Publisher presents the product in an attractive and unique way. The idea is to present a clear and compelling list of all the features that make the buyer want to click Purchase Now and enter a credit card number. The problem is, too often Publishers list features of their products that nobody really cares about. They might forget spellcheck or use bad grammar. Even if you do a terrific job of preselling the product, if the landing page is a mess, customers will click away without a second thought.

A third consideration is how well other affiliates have been doing the last six weeks by promoting the same product. Clickbank provides you with a full line-up of tools that help you objectively determine whether particular products will work for you. The gravity score, for example, tells you how many affiliates have made sales of this product in the last six weeks. The gravity score affords greater weight to the most recent sales. It won’t tell you if a single affiliate marketer has sold, say, 1,000 copies, but it will tell you how broadly the product appeals to the buying public. A high gravity score tells you that your page, almost any way you frame it, is likely to work right away. Clickbank also gives you the average earnings per sale made by affiliates. If the gravity is low and the percentage sold by affiliates is high, you can walk away knowing overall sales are probably too low to be worth your time. And even if the gravity score is high, a tiny average earnings number also tells you to steer clear.

You are the ultimate best judge of which products will generate the most profits for you. Invest your presale talents in products you would buy yourself. Focus on products of obvious merit with great sales copy. Eliminating poorly written products and lazy publishers will give you a list of high-potential product and bump your chances of success higher.
